“We feel like we had a part in helping to keep South  Korea democratic and those people prospering.

“We are sad that we did not do this years ago, when so many of the others were still alive. I guess it is better late than never. It is bitter-sweet.”
The granite monument contains  every name of those in the 107th. Weaver said, “It is a monument that will last for eternity if something doesn’t destroy it. We are proud of our service and thank everyone who contributed  to making this monument a reality.
“I thank the city of Haleyville and Mayor (Larry) Albright for letting us put this monument here. We thought it would be more appropriate to put it next to the monument that is already here.
“It was put here at no cost to the city. We would like to say a special thank you to Will Walker, of Traders and Farmers Bank; Bill Waldrop, Gateway Foods; Tracy Rye, Pinnacle Bank; Pam Elliott, Pinnacle Bank and members of the 107th, their spouses and families for their contributions.
