Quinton T. Humphries, 78, of Double Springs, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born April 20, 1946, to Noah Lee and Martha Elena Humphries. Quinton proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for seven years in the 101st and 82nd Airborne and was also part of the Winston County Commission for eight years. He loved his family, friends and community.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 5-8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where his funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Williams Cemetery in the Black Pond community. Shawn Blanton will officiate.
Quinton is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lottie L. Humphries; daughter, Melisa (Derrick) Humphries Dees; son, James Keith (Amber Nicole) Humphries; granddaughter, Lottie Beth Dees; brothers, Lewis Humphries, James Wendell Humphries and Dewight Bell; sisters, Shelby Gean Reynolds and Maddie Ward and a host of many important loved ones who called him papa, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Lee and Martha Elena Humphries; stepmother, Earlene Bell Humphries; brother, Noah Lee Humphries Jr.; brother-in-law, Carey Wendell; father-in-law, C.W. "Doc" Alexander and mother-in-law, Agnes Pauline Alexander.
