DOUBLE SPRINGS - Winston County Schools have invested in even stronger student and staff safety features while on buses, thanks to the Zonar system, which tracks buses with location reports, rider status and driver performance, as well as other web-based features during routes.

BEAR CREEK - A Bear Creek woman has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault on a police officer, reckless endangerment, possession of drug paraphernalia, attempting to elude a police officer, criminal mischief and possession of a controlled substance, said Haleyville Police Chief Kyle Reogas.

HALEYVILLE - Several areas in need of paving are being eyed in the industrial section of Haleyville, now that the city has learned they can apply for up to $150,000 in a revolving loan project through the Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments.
