HALEYVILLE - State legislators representing Winston County turned out Monday night, Feb. 19, for the annual Meet and Greet event sponsored by the Haleyville Civitan Club at the middle school.

Millican honored at Monday night Meet and Greet

Bear Creek Civitans hold planning meeting for annual Relay For Life bake sale

BEAR CREEK  - Names were read off as rolls of honor as the Bear Creek Civitan members met at the Bobby Bishop Community Center in Bear Creek to kick-off planning the annual Relay For Life bake sale. The event is slated for Thursday, March 29, and Friday, March 30, at the community Center.
It will be a great opportunity to get your desserts for Easter weekend. Delicious cakes, pies, cookies, cupcakes, breads and more will be available.

 

HES upgrades security

Election of officers results in BCDA board turnover


Newly elected officers of the BCDA board are Jeff Mobley as board vice chairman and Connie Morrison as board chairperson. Franklin County Probate Judge Barry Moore, who was absent from the meeting, was kept as BCDA secretary.
HODGES - Election of officers for the year at the Friday, Feb. 9, meeting of the Bear Creek Development caused a complete board turnover with five votes going for Connie Morrison as chairperson.

Cinderella's Closet seeks help with prom dresses

Fire at The Galley Restaurant

HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville Fire Department, with assistance from Bear Creek, Craft and Delmar, were on the scene of a fire at the Galley Restaurant on Highway 13 South Wednesday night into Thursday morning, Feb. 8.   Owner Venita Armstrong Hamrick reported that the fire was at the rear of the restaurant.  The extent of damage is being determined.
