LYNN - The victim of an early morning house fire Monday, Oct. 16, suspects arson and theft after finding fire had possibly been set at three separate locations inside his home and a TV missing from the bedroom.

HALEYVILLE - This is National Business Women’s Week, and the City of Haleyville is recognizing the contributions women throughout the area make to the city’s economic engine by signing a proclamation declaring this week National Business Women’s Week in Haleyville.
The board of directors, operations chief and supervisor of the Winston County Rescue Squad, which will beginning serving eastern Winston County next week. They are President Pat Hana, Darrell Smith with the Addison Fire Department, Ashley Tucker with the Central Fire Department, WCRS Operations Chief Cody Wakefield, Helicon Fire Chief Neil Feist, WCRS Supervisor Greg Ackley and Arley Fire Chief James Rickett.
ARLEY - The Winston County Rescue Squad (WCRS) has been certified by the Alabama Department of Public Health Office of EMS and will start providing ambulance service to eastern Winston County on Sunday, Oct. 15, when they will mark the occasion with a ceremony and ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. at the Arley Fire Department.
LYNN - This is homecoming week at Lynn High School, and everyone is invited to come out and celebrate the Bears’ success so far this season, as well as cheer them on to victory by taking part in the homecoming parade Thursday, Oct. 12, at 6:30 p.m.
- The only area where cash is not on hand to cover higher expenditures than revenues when it comes to Winston County governmental agencies is the sanitation department, with customers owing a half million dollars for garbage collection services.
DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Winston County Commission - in coordination with the County Transfer Station in Haleyville, Pace Industries in Lynn and Hyche Landfill in Addison - has set Saturday, October 21, as the fall countywide cleanup day.
HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville Street and Sanitation Department will be closed Monday, Oct. 7, in observance of Columbus Day. Therefore, there will be no garbage collection on that date.
Monday's garbage route will be collected on Tuesday, Oct. 8, along with the normal Tuesday route.

HALEYVILLE - What began as a drive-through trick-or-treat event at Haleyville City Hall with Mayor Ken Sunseri and city employees in costumes, has expanded this year into a fall festival at the Heart of Haleyville Park and Main Street Saturday, Oct. 28.
