Betty Sue Godsey, 90, of Haleyville, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023 at her home. She was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church.
Visitation will be Monday, October 2, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home, Haleyville. Her funeral will be Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with Dr. Ron Horton officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Ms. Godsey is survived by her children, Carolyn (Johnny Mack) Stough, Gary (Joyce) Simms, Rebekah Martin, Stephen (Dawn) Eaton, Jennifer (Ron) McInnish, Connie Ingle and J.D. Eaton; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Woodrow Eaton and Jay Godsey, Sr.; father, Joseph McKinley Jones; mother, Annie Lou Hornsby Jones; brothers, Otis Jones, Mack Donald Jones, Joseph Dennis Jones and Alden Jones; sisters, Vivian Eleanor Bradford, Nettie Mae Scott and Leta Leona Gordon; children, A.C. Eaton, Patricia Ann Eaton and Rita Diane Eaton; sons-in-law, Wayne Martin and Arlin Campbell; grandsons, Deetric Martin and Matthew Eaton and great-grandson, Jon Campbell McGough.
