After a long battle with progressive supranuclear palsy, Peggy Ann Lollar Harrison, of Hoover, went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, at the age of 70. Her private, family graveside service will be held Friday, Dec. 8, 2023, at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham. Dr. Jim Ailor will officiate the service. Wilson Funeral Home will direct.
After growing up in Pinson, Peggy relocated to Tuscaloosa, where she devoted years to raising her children. As an adult, she began her college education, earning bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting. She enjoyed over 20 years of service as a certified public accountant and retired as the assistant director of budgets for the University of Alabama. She enjoyed quiet weekends at her secluded family cabin in Fayette County. She lived her life with unwavering faith and dedication as a devout Christian, finding strength and solace in her beliefs.
Peggy was preceded in death by her father, D.E. “Ed” Lollar.
She is survived by her mother, Judy Lollar; sister, Diane (Jim) Ailor; brothers, Jimmy (Pam), Tim (Margaret) and Ricky (Li) Lollar; sister-in-law, Barbara Harrison; children, Justin (Mary) and Jessica Harrison and grandchildren, Eli and Ethan Harrison.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to CurePSP.org.
And finally, we would be remiss if we did not recognize the dedication of the team of caregivers who have become a part of Peggy’s extended family, bringing light and warmth during her final years.
