Myrna Lee McNutt, 82, of Haleyville, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 26, 2024.
She was born August 25, 1941 in Jackson, Tennessee to Travis and Marie McCord. Myrna was a 1959 graduate of Sheffield High School and attended the Larimore Business College in Florence. After meeting her “Guy”, the love of her life, she moved to Haleyville and retired from the Packaging Corporation of America as a secretary. Myrna loved her family, buttercups, purple daisies, her sisters in the Red Hat Society, "Gone With the Wind" and Elvis Presley. But most of all, she loved Jesus.
Visitation will be Monday, March 4, 2024 from noon until 1 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home, Haleyville, where her funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be held at Hillcrest Cemetery in Haleyville.
Myrna is survived by her son, Gary (Mitzi) McNutt; sisters, Glenda Lindeburg and Lynn (Tim) Payne; brother, Travis O’ Neal (Jean) McCord and brother-in-law, Wayne McNutt. Myrna was also blessed and loved by a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Travis and Marie McCord; loving husband, Guy McNutt; brothers-in-law, Myles Lindeburg and Paul (Paula) McNutt and sisters-in-law, Doreen McCord and Beth McNutt.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks to consider a donation be given to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or your local church.
