Loyce Gilliland White, 84, of Houston, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation Center in Double Springs surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born June 26, 1939, to Walter Nolan and Iris Gilliland. Loyce loved her family and was a devoted Christian, giving her life to Christ at an early age. She was an excellent seamstress and made beautiful clothes for herself at an early age and then for her daughters when they were young.
Visitation will be Friday, April 26, 2024, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will begin at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel. Burial will be at Houston Community Cemetery. Dr. G. Lance Hogan and Rev. Kenneth Sudduth will officiate.
Loyce is survived by her husband, Robert Allen White; children, Jennifer W. (Carl) West, Melanie W. (G. Lance) Hogan and Christopher A. (Debbie) White; grandchildren, Allyn C. Hanks (Matthew Baxley), G. Thadeus (Heather) Hogan, Taylor W. (Savannah) Hogan, Chasity N. White, Kaylie C. White, Morgan K. Burroughs and Megan L. Burroughs; and great grandchildren, Walker J. Hogan, Nora T. Hogan, Hazel K. Chitwood and Carter Rose Conley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Nolan and Iris Collier Gilliland; sisters, Joyce G. (Tom) Frazier, Yvonne G. Taylor and Toy Mae “Faye” G. Harris; and one grandson, Jesse Whiten Hogan.
