David Lee Vandiver, 73, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, at Russellville Hospital. He was born February 11, 1951, in Franklin County to Drewy and Arilla Suddith Vandiver. He was a jack of all trades, but always “The Boss”. One of his greatest joys was being called “PawPaw” by everyone, especially his granddaughter, Finleigh.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 1, 2024, from 5-7 p.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville. His funeral will be Thursday, May, 2, 2024 at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Bro. Trevor Hallmark will officiate. Interment will be at Gargis Cemetery.
David is survived by his children, William Wilson (Mary), Tim Wilson (Pam) and Sherry Willis (Ricky); grandchildren, Matt Austin (Lacey), Michael Wilson (Shea), Olivia Franklin (Clayton), Erica Wilson, Jessica Wilson, Zach Wilson, Amber Wilson and Brittany Wilson and great-grandchildren, Finleigh Austin, Charlie Wilson, Reeslie Wilson, Moxton Marshall, Whitley Willis and Lilly Franklin. David will be missed by the many children he raised “even though he didn’t have to," a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pam Vandiver; parents, Drewy and Arilla and siblings, Annie Ruth Cook, Marie Holland, Katherine Hulett, Ray Vandiver, Clay Vandiver, Johnny Vandiver, Tim Vandiver and Diane Vandiver.
Pallbearers will be Dave Fischer, Tony Myrick, Ralph Mears, Chuckie Mears, Chris Kerby and Chester Quinn. The family wishes to thank Northwest Home Health, Russellville Hospital’s full staff and special caregiver Sheila Jones for all their love, care and help the last few months with PawPaw.
