Wayne Williams, 72, of Haleyville, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Haleyville Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
He was born August 16, 1951, in Marion County to Emmit Williams and Earlene Woodruff. Wayne was a truck driver for over 50 years and was known by his CB handle "Freight Hauler."
Visitation was Sunday, May 12, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where the service was held at 4 p.m.
Wayne is survived by his sons, John Wayne Williams, Lee Ervin Williams and his wife Jenady, and Ryan Williams; daughters, Tina Hanner and her husband Robert, Tammy Williams and Amanda Davis and her husband Robby; sisters Teresa Johnson and Geneva Beltram; grandchildren, Jeff, Starr, Jason, Hannah, Crystal, Brandon, Colby, Brilee, Zoey, Austin, Angel and Emily; 16 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheliah Williams; parents, Emmitt Williams and Earlene Sargent; siblings, Harvey, OmaLee, Roger, Earlene "Tootsie," Robin, David, Margaret; and many others.
