Vonda Townsend, 84, of Double Springs, went home to be with our Lord and Savior, at her residence Saturday, December 7, 2024.
She is the mother of Leigh Ellen Townsend and grandmother of Taylor Lasker. Vonda loved her daughter, granddaughter and great-grandchildren very much. Her family meant the world to her. If you knew Vonda, you knew exactly what each of them meant to her. Vonda attended church at Double Springs First Baptist for many, many years. She was strong in her faith and loved serving the Lord, as well as others. She was also a member of Double Springs Study Club, which she took great pride in. Vonda had a servant's heart. Vonda was the true definition of a Proverbs 31 woman. She was an avid sewer and was quite fond of cooking for others, especially those who were sick. Vonda also enjoyed cooking in the kitchen at church and seeing all the children's faces who would come through for Vacation Bible School. Vacation Bible School is something she looked forward to every year. Throughout her life, she touched so many people's lives through her love, kindness and generosity. Vonda will be terribly missed but we know we will see her again one day.
1 Corinthians 13:13: "And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
