Willard Otis McBroom, 76, of Haleyville, passed away Monday January 14, 2025 at his home.
He was born July 8, 1946 to Willard Ardis Sr. and Lillie Bell McBroom. Otis was a devout member of the South Haleyville Church of God. He was a very strong man and an even harder worker, proudly serving in the United States Army, working in coal mines, driving heavy equipment and pulling mobile homes to provide for his family. Otis loved drag racing and cooking for family and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 12-2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where his funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Ireland Cemetery in Haleyville.
Otis is survived by his wife, Eldonna Ragan McBroom; daughter, Theressa Cagle; brother, Waymon (Edith) McBroom; sisters, Joyce Ann Sartin and Faye Shirley (Dewayne) Mann; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Ardis Sr. and Lillie Bell McBroom; daughters, Robbie and Rebecca McBroom and brothers, George Sartin and Ray McBroom.
