Gerardo Guardardo Moreno "Nico", 57, of Haleyville, passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Baptist Health Walker Hospital in Jasper, surrounded by his loving family.
Nico was born in Zacatecas, Mexico. He enjoyed food and dancing and he loved sports, especially soccer. He also was a member of Llamada Final Alabama. Nico was a hard-working family man. He loved his family, especially his grandson. He was always happy and cheerful. He was selfless and was always there when anyone needed him.
Visitation will be Monday, March 3, 2025 from 5-7 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where his funeral will be on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 12 p.m.. Graveside service and burial will be at New Hope Cemetery at 2 p.m. Agustin Vargas and Nathan Marchan will officiate.
Nico is survived by his daughter, Abigail Williams; grandson, Tucker Jayce Martinez and his partner, Linda Morgan; mother, Teresa Moreno; sisters, Emma Guardado, Yolanda Guardado, Luz Guardado and Maria Guadalupe Marchan; brothers, Miguel Guardado, Guillermo Guardado, Juan Guardado, Javier Guardado, Jorge Luis Guardado and Antonio Guardado and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Guillermo Guardado, Sr. and his sister, Marta Guardado.
