On Sunday, Feb. 9, 2025, Betty A Hill, 77, of Alvin, Texas, went to be with the Lord. Betty was a beloved sister, aunt and friend, known for her no-nonsense attitude, selfless giving nature and her love of the Lord. She will be greatly missed.
Betty was born on October 23,1947 in Double Springs to John “Shorty” Hill Jr. and Flova Overton Hill. She graduated from Galveston, Texas’ Ball High School in 1967. She took on many roles over the years, from caregiver to her grandmother, mother, nieces and nephew, to teacher and volunteer.
Betty retired from CenterPoint Energy in Houston, Texas (formerly HL&P) in 2008 after many years of service.
Betty was steadfast in her faith and a longtime member of Connect Community Church in Pasadena, Texas, where she attended and volunteered regularly.
She will be deeply missed by all fortunate enough to know her, but we take comfort in knowing that she is dancing in heaven today.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, John Hill Jr.; mother, Flova Hill Ausmus and sister, Pearlie Hill Borden.
She is survived by her brother, Jerry Edward Hill and wife Sandy; sister, Linda Hill, nephews, Elton Raia and wife Suzanne and John Borden and wife Nancy; nieces Sarah Raia, Kim Moore and Angela Russell and husband Jamal and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held in the days to come at Fairview Cemetery in Double Springs. Crowder Funeral Home is assisting the family.
