Joyce Olene Chambers

Joyce Olene Chambers, 77 of the Black Pond community, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2025 at Lakeland Community Hospital. 

She was born October 20, 1947 to Dallas and Ruby Curtis. Joyce was described as strong, helpful, loving and feisty. She was a lifelong member of Pinetucky Missionary Baptist Church. Joyce enjoyed reading, crocheting, cross stitching and sewing. She also loved hunting, fishing and doing puzzles. Joyce had a love for animals and was known as "the animal whisperer."

Visitation will be Thursday, March 20, 2025 from 12-2 p.m. at Pinetucky Missionary Baptist Church in the Black Pond community, where a service will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Brother Tim Box will officiate.   Nichols Funeral Home will direct.

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Kim Warren (Lonnie); grandchildren, Felicia Holcomb (Darren), Hunter Warren, Damien Maze and Shi Ree Sims; sister, Lynda Curtis Messer (Jimmy); brothers, Thomas Curtis (Wanda) and Joel Curtis (Kathy) and a host of nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Ruby Curtis; brothers, Earl Curtis, Preston Curtis and Doyle Curtis and a sister, Virginia Curtis Boshell.
