Brenda Kay Sutherland, 75, of Haleyville, passed away Friday, January 23, 2026 at her residence.
Brenda was born March 6, 1950 to O.B. and Esther Marie Pierce. Brenda loved going to church, gospel music, reading her Bible and taking care of her house. She also enjoyed adult coloring books and shopping. Brenda loved her family most of all.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, 2026 from 1-2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where her funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville. Brother Ricky Thrasher will officiate.
Brenda is survived by her son, Barry Joe Sutherland; sister, Fay (Royce) Kelley; nephews, Patrick (Chasity) Kelley and Jeff (Tara) Kelly; great-nieces and nephews, Alyvia Kelley, Brooke Kelly, Alexis Shaffer and Dylan Hess and great-great-nieces and nephews, Amyah, Lilliona, August, Maislynn and Kingston.
She was preceded in death by her parents, O.B. and Esther Marie Pierce; husband, Bobby Gene Sutherland; son, Bruce Sutherland; siblings, Tim Pierce, Johnny Pierce, Bruce Terry Pierce, Judy Marie Pierce and Carolyn Kelly; great-nephew, Issak Kelley and brother-in-law, Phillip Kelly.
