Mary Ann Jones, 67, of Haleyville, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Her funeral will be held Thursday, March 5, 2026, at 2 p.m. at House of Refuge Church in Haleyville. Veal Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
Born December 10, 1958 in Hollywood, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Dorothy Wood Hanner. She had lived in Haleyville the past 30 years. She loved playing cards, bingo and spending time with the family. She loved helping people and seeing the good in everyone.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy Ramsey (Kurt) and Mary Elisabeth Hanner; a son, James Kennedy; grandsons, Brandon Rucks (Sandra Lee), Derek Rucks (Grace) and Joseph Nunnery (Emma); great-grandson, Carson Rucks; nephews she loved like her own children, Carl W. Hanner, Terry Hanner (Brandy) and Robert Hanner (Tina); a host of great-nephews and nieces and her children at heart, Cheyanne and Steve.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Carl Hanner; a brother, Carl "Gene" Hanner; a sister-in-law, Theresa Hanner and a nephew, Phillip Hanner.
