HALEYVILLE - Lady Lions stayed in it until the end, but Cordova pulled away late in an 11-2 victory on Friday, April 19. The game was tied at two with Cordova batting in the top of the fourth when a single on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
The Lady Lions struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Cordova, giving up 11 runs.
Molly Gilbert started the game for the Lady Lions. She surrendered 11 runs on seven hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three. Anna Lacy Sartin threw one inning out of the bullpen.
Gilbert, Hailie Moody, and Lauran Wilcoxson each managed one hit to lead HHS.
