East side of county wary over Lakeland’s plan to open clinics

WINSTON COUNTY -  Before the Winston County Commission took a vote April 29, to apply two mills of property tax directly to the Health Care Authority of Haleyville and Winston County, a tremendous amount of discussion erupted, with several opposing the idea.

The commission meeting was attended by visitors lined wall-to-wall in the commission office within the Winston County Courthouse, including representatives from both Arley and Lynn, two county municipalities currently without an operating health care clinic.

Also in attendance were representatives from the Health Care Authority.
