Lawrence Collins, 79, of Lynn, entered into rest on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at North Alabama Medical Center.
Mr. Collins was born on December 29, 1941 in Jamboree, Kentucky. He loved working with honey bees and also liked guns.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 17, 2021 from 12:30-2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Double Springs Memorial Cemetery in Double Springs, Alabama.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice Collins; two daughters, Deb (Philip) Willis and Michelle Collins; four grandchildren: Beth (Tracy) Phelps, Zack (Brittany) Willis, Preston Collins and Kaylee Collins; five great-grandchildren: Zayden, Keon and Jeremiah Phelps and Addy Faith and Josiah Willis; two brothers, Clinton and Clifford Collins; two sisters, Ruby Stanley and Pearl Azam; a special daughter, Vanessa Tidwell and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lazarus and Phoebe Collins; three brothers, Clayton, Theodore and David Collins; five sisters, Inis Coleman, Ruth Bowling, Irene Coleman, Imogene Dyas and Alphie Collins and two great-grandchildren, Riley Kate Willis and Baby Phelps.
