Ivey announces plans to begin looking at reopening the economy

MONTGOMERY - Without giving any specifics, Governor Kay Ivey announced during a press conference Tuesday, April 14, that plans are being worked upon to begin the process of reopening Alabama's economy, as it appears that the stay-at-home order put in place April 3, is beginning to help "flatten the curve" of COVID-19 cases.

MONTGOMERY - The author of the new book "The Byler Road and Its People", Haleyville native Joel Mize, was in Montgomery Tuesday along with his collaborator on the book, Theresa Snoddy, of Double Springs, and Theresa's husband, Winston County Circuit Clerk, J.D. Snoddy.  While in the state capital, the three visited with Governor Kay Ivey, presenting her a copy of the book, which details the history of the Byler Road and the counties through which it travels.
