Billy Brooks, 89, of Haleyville, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025.
He was born June 17, 1936 in Hardin County, Tennessee. He retired from Warren Manufacturing in Birmingham. He was an active member and deacon of Beech Grove Baptist Church in Haleyville, where he taught Sunday School for 50+ years. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a faithful, Godly man.
Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2025 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville. His funeral will be Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 11 a.m. in the chapel, with Brent Palmer and Danny Brooks officiating. Burial to follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his sons, Phillip Brooks and Danny Brooks (Karen); son-in-law, Charles Capelton; sister, Mary Fuller (Darrell); grandchildren, Amber Counts (Jason), Ryan Brooks (Lise), Andrea Brooks, Kristen Sanders (Dylan) and Jessica Amos (Rory); 10 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dee and Elvie Brooks; wife, Ruby Brooks; daughter, Margaret Capelton; grandson, Branden Capelton and 11 siblings.
