Melvia Tidwell, 94, of Double Springs, passed peacefully Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Hendrix Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born February 8, 1931 to Henry and Vina Brewer.
Visitation will be Friday, September 19, 2025 from 10-11 a.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Double Springs, where her funeral will take place at 11 a.m. Brother Mickey Millican and Brother Randy Jones will officiate. Burial will take place at Williams Cemetery in the Black Pond community.
Melvia is survived by her son, Terry (Rita) Tidwell; brothers, Jimmy (Cynthia) Brewer and Ronald Joe (Phyllis) Brewer; sister-in-law, Peggy Brewer; brother-in-law, Hoyt Posey; grandchildren, Sherry Parish and Amy (John) Comeens; great-grandchildren, Austin Gay, Tanner Parrish, Miah Comeens and Ian Comeens and great-great-grandchildren, Gracelyn Gay and Baby Gay.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Tidwell; parents, Henry and Vina Jones Brewer; brothers, James Brewer, W.M. Brewer, John David Brewer and Waylon Brewer; sisters, Helen Alexander, Henrietta Posey and Elvie Cooper and two infant sisters.
