Betty Jean Henderson, 85, of Haleyville, entered into rest on Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at North Alabama Medical Center.
Mrs. Henderson was born on November 30, 1933. Betty loved her family and her dogs, Gidget, Cocoa and Pebbles. She enjoyed spending holidays with her family, working puzzle books, cooking and watching the Food Network, "Law and Order" and Murder Mystery. Betty was full of life and always excited when her family came to visit.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 6-8 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Haleyville, where her funeral will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at 11 a.m. Brother Rickey Whitt and Tameka Vickery will officiate. Burial will follow in Ireland Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.
Betty is survived by her sons, James Henderson and Timothy Henderson and his wife Darlene and daughters, Deborah Whitman and her husband Terry Hurley, Sandy Reynoso and Darlene Earnest. She was “Mawmaw” to 20 grandchildren, Jeremy (Heather) Sibley, TaMeka (Brad) Vickery, Alisha (Paul) Johnson, T.J. (Angela) Henderson, Jessica Henderson, David Sparks, Amanda Henderson, Daniel Miller, Shane Hogan, Jessica Moody, Adam (Brandy) Hogan, Priscilla Hughes and Richard (Brandy) Adams and 13 great-grandchildren, Landon Whitman, Madelynn Sparks, Anna Brooke Sibley, Ices Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Chandler Henderson, Austin Henderson, Lukas Hogan, Jaxon Hogan, Haden Hogan, Jase Hogan, Abby Gail Moody and Adrianna Dyer.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Henderson; son, Steve Earnest; daughters, Lisa Henderson and Susan Flinders; father, Monroe Smith; mother, Winnie Padella; brothers, Billy Smith and Bobby Smith and son-in-law, Michael Whitman.
