HALEYVILLE - It was literally a Night Under the Stars at the first Haleyville High School prom to be held outdoors in recent history. At the star studded event, held as an elegant dinner complete with decor and music under large tents in the front parking lot of the elementary school, the senior walk-out was followed by the naming of senior Nash Collum as prom king and senior Julia Bonner as prom queen. The event strayed from its indoor format, which for the past few years has been at the Joint Armed Forces Reserve Center, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The prom was held outdoors with dinner complemented by the live music of Reid Haughton as well as music played by deejay Ray Rodgers. The dinner was served to juniors, seniors and their dates by members of the HCS staff. The elegant atmosphere, complete with chandeliers, was the perfect backdrop for pictures as well.
