Willa "Dean" Bailey Silas, 89, of Haleyville, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021. Dean was a member of Waldrop Freewill Baptist Church.
She was known for being a excellent cook and baker. Her family and friends knew they could depend on her for great meals her special red velvet cake, and many other desserts.
Her graveside service will be Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Winston Memorial Cemetery, with Bro. Jeff Boyles and Bro. Hugh Cavender officiating. Pinkard Funeral Home will direct.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela (Dennis) Steele; 2 grandsons, Justin (Jessica) Steele and Jerrad Steele; 4 great-grandsons, Kamden, Tyden, Benjamin and Jettson Steele; sisters, Sarah (Rayford) Steele, Faye (Bill) Prince and Hattie (Freddie) Swabe; brother, Marvin Bailey; sister Linda Riley; sisters-in-law, Evlen (Ellis) Thomas and Irene Silas; many nieces and nephews and a host of many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William T. and Liza Pinkard Bailey; her loving husband of 36 years, Ulas Silas, who passed away October 19, 1991; brother, Jay Bailey and sister, Marie Beecham.
Dean loved her family and friends. Her church was very important to her. Her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was first in her life and how she lived. She loved and enjoyed taking family and friends her cakes, breads and other food when it was needed, most of the time to share what she loved to do.
