Robert Edward Dykes, 91, of Haleyville, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at his home. Robert was a veteran, having served in the United States Marine Corps., worked for many years at Frontier Homes and later retired as an escort driver. He was a member of Ninth Avenue Church of Christ in Haleyville.
His visitation will be Saturday, February 13, 2021 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, with his funeral at 1 p.m. in the chapel. Andy Kizer will be officiating the service. Burial to follow in Winston Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Velva Dykes; son, Mike Pruitt; brother, Keith Dykes; sisters, Wanda Flanagin, Ann Hulsey, Babe Harris and Millerine Hargett; grandchildren, Mark Pruitt, Kim Hulsey, Kasey Pruitt and Kyle Pruitt; great-grandchildren, LaDecka Pruitt and Alex Hulsey and great-great-grandchildren, Gabe Pruitt, Adalee Pruitt and Sawyer Hulsey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Margie Dykes; son, Phillip Pruitt; sisters, Tootsie Batchelor and Vernell Wingo and grandson, Tim Pruitt.
