James Wallace Crumpton, 76, of Haleyville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2021. He was born in Haleyville to the late Jadice and Hazel Crumpton.
Wallace was retired from Free State Lumber Company after 32 years of service. After retiring, he continued to stay busy by helping his brother at a plumbing store and working with the cattle. Wallace loved the Lord and his family with all his heart, and was a member of Solid Rock Church.
His visitation will be Sunday, February 21, 2021 from 1- 3 p.m. at Solid Rock Church in Haleyville, with his funeral at 3 p.m. in the church, with Pastor Benny Knight and Pastor Dustin Atkins officiating. Burial to follow in Littleville Cemetery. Pinkard Funeral Home directing.
He was a beloved husband to Carolyn Crumpton and a proud and loving father to Brock (Shannon) Miller and Keslie (Dustin) Atkins. He was a loving Papa to Jayson Miller, MaKenzee Miller and Miller Reece Atkins. Wallace is also survived by sister-in-law Edith Crumpton, Debbie (Tim) Smith, and Brenda Scott; brother-in-law Joel (Sharon) Scott and mother-in-law Fleeta Scott and nieces and nephews, Scott (Vicky) Crumpton, Susan (Nathaniel) King, Micheal (Renita) Crumpton, Joyce Moody, William Robert Crumpton, Jerome Crumpton, Eli Crumpton, Joel Craig Scott, Hunter Smith, Caitlan Swinney and Anna Smith.
Pallbearers will be Larry Thomas, Butch Hodge, Johnny Hood, Marshall Barnes, Barry Cox and George Cox.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents, Jadice and Hazel Crumpton; son Brian Miller; four brothers Wayne Crumpton, Will Frank, Jimmy Hugh and Robert Lee Crumpton; father-in-law Clyde Scott; brother-in-law, Jeff Scott and nephew, Jayson Scott.
Wallace's last wish was for everyone to know the Lord.
