Wayne Lee Alred, 66, passed from this walk of life on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at North Alabama Medical Center, after an extended battle with the COVID-19 virus, heart and lung problems.
He worked at G & G Steel for 40 years and was a member of the Baptist church.
Wayne loved his job and was a faithful and hard worker. He also loved going to auctions, flea market, work, fishing, raising chickens and Alabama football, ROLL TIDE!!
He was preceded in death by his father, Arbie Alred; brothers, Bobby and Danny Alred; nephew, Brent Gault; step-father, Wayne Mayfield and step-sister, Renae Trapp.
He is survived by his mother, Sue Alred Mayfield; his wife, Vicky Huckabee Alred; one son, Tim Alred (Cristy); three step-children, Amanda Black (Johnny), Shannon James (Angie) and Jeremy James (Marcia); sisters, Deborah Gault (Andy), Carolyn Crosswhite (Tommy) and Peggy Crowe (Greg); step-sister, Shelia Taylor (Kenny); step-brothers, Jeremy Mayfield (Nikki) and Gary Mayfield. Eight step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, uncles and aunts.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Pinkard Funeral Home, Russellville, Alabama, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. with the funeral service following at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Brother Derrick Washington will officiate. Interment will follow services in Franklin Memory Gardens, Russellville.
