ARLEY - The Arley Women's Club met Wednesday, January 23, to continue making plans for the 51st annual Arley Day Festival, Parade and Car Show, set for Saturday, May 18.

ARLEY - A 19-year-old man who allegedly injured an elderly woman when forcing his way into her home during a home invasion, faces burglary and assault charges, as well as possible deportation back to Mexico after it was discovered he was in the country illegally, authorities said.
The board of directors, operations chief and supervisor of the Winston County Rescue Squad, which will beginning serving eastern Winston County next week. They are President Pat Hana, Darrell Smith with the Addison Fire Department, Ashley Tucker with the Central Fire Department, WCRS Operations Chief Cody Wakefield, Helicon Fire Chief Neil Feist, WCRS Supervisor Greg Ackley and Arley Fire Chief James Rickett.
ARLEY - The Winston County Rescue Squad (WCRS) has been certified by the Alabama Department of Public Health Office of EMS and will start providing ambulance service to eastern Winston County on Sunday, Oct. 15, when they will mark the occasion with a ceremony and ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. at the Arley Fire Department.

ARLEY - The board of directors for Cullman Electric Cooperative recently represented a check in the amount of $2,000 to the Arley Women’s Club to use toward its many philanthropic endeavors.
The new officers of the Arley Women’s Club presented the former officers with gift bags at an AWC meeting on Aug. 14. From left to right are Treasurer Sara Little, incoming Vice President Beth Sargent, outgoing Vice President Anne Knowlton, Immediate Past President Barbara Wills, incoming President Laurie McGriff, outgoing Secretary Jane Shirah, incoming Secretary Monti Pafford, outgoing Parliamentarian Becky Mascari-Cox and incoming Parliamentarian Krista Givens.
ARLEY - The new Arley Women’s Club officers and directors, who assumed their roles in July and will serve two-year terms, have new projects planned for the coming years.
An ambulance donated by RPS (at right) has now joined the Winston County Rescue Squad’s first ambulance (at left), purchased in June, at the squad’s base at Arley Fire Department, giving the WCRS the two ambulances it needs to be certified to operate. ARLEY - The Winston County Rescue Squad (WCRS) is a big step closer to being able to provide ambulance service to east Winston County now that it has the second of two ambulances it requires to operate, this one donated by Regional Paramedical Services (RPS).
