Cummings, Lee, win runoff races

WINSTON COUNTY - Current Winston County District 2 Commissioner David Cummings will be the next Winston County Commission chairman, after defeating former Winston County District 1 Commissioner Bobby Everett in the April 16, runoff election.

Cummings received 2,079 votes or 61.29 percent of the vote, compared to Everett's 1,313 votes, or 38.71 percent of the vote.

For the District 4 seat on the Winston County Board of Education, incumbent Randy Lee defeated Ted Alexander to hold on to his seat.  Lee received 534 votes, or 59.53 percent of the vote, compared to Alexander's 363 votes, or 40.47 percent of the vote.
