James McArthur Wilkins

James McArthur Wilkins, 61, of Addison, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

 He was born October 14, 1962 to Ellis and Muriel Wilkins. James was an avid outdoorsman who loved animals and gardening. He was a die-hard Alabama football fan. James was a member of First Baptist Church in Addison.

 Visitation will be Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from noon- 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Addison, where his funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Addison. Brother Samuel Tucker and Brother Kenneth Sudduth will officiate. Pallbearers will be David Hood, Griff Waid, Logan Waid, Justin Robinson, Jason Lee, Jarrod Lee, Floyd McLamb and Craig Cleghorn.  Nichols Funeral Home will direct.

 James is survived by his wife of 28 years, Wanda Waid Wilkins; sons, Wesley Heath Wilkins and his wife Jovelyn, Wade Edmon Vincent and his wife Angela and Brent Kendall Vincent; grandchildren, Papa’s girl Trentley Vincent, Abigail Williams and Brody Williams; sister, Joyce Wilkins McLamb and her husband Gary and a host of nieces and nephews.

 He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis Leon Wilkins and Muriel Francis Jones Wilkins and son, Jordan Christopher Wilkins.
