Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program no longer taking applications for vouchers

WINSTON COUNTY - Just after press time Tuesday, January 20, the Alabamian received word from the Winston County Extension Service that the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program had closed their application window for 2026.  Therefore, the article that appears in the Wednesday, January 21, edition of the Alabamian stating that applications are being taken for the program vouchers is no longer accurate.

According to the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program, the amount of funding they receive for the program was less than the amount of applications received within an 8-day period.  No more funding is expected to be received.  Funding for this program comes through the federal government.
