Frances Posey

Frances Posey, 82, of Oakman, entered into rest on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Posey was born on November 22, 1936 in Haleyville. Frances attended Haleyville High School. She was known as "Nana" to her family and "Sis" to her brothers, nieces and nephews.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oakman.  Frances was self-employed and retired from her career as a beautician.  She enjoyed collecting sea shells, but most of all she was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and watching hummingbirds and squirrels from the back porch.

A graveside service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Winston Memorial Cemetery in Haleyville. Reverend Dustin Murray and Reverend Billy Doss will officiate.  Nichols Funeral Home directing.

Frances is survived by her husband of 64 years, Travis Posey; sons, Tom Posey and his wife Rhonda and Allan Posey; grandchildren, Morgan (Will) Harkness, Kristen (Jake) Fischer, Ben (Amber) Posey and Connor Posey; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Luke, Mason, Sam and Brayden and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sircay and Lucille Batchelor and brothers, Jimmy Batchelor, Jerry Batchelor and his wife Shirley and Kenneth Batchelor.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in her honor.
