No serious injuries from 2 vehicle wreck in Double Springs

DOUBLE SPRINGS - A two-vehicle accident occurring Wednesday, April 1, on Highway 278 in Double Springs, resulted in minor injuries to a Double Springs woman.

Era Owens, driver of a 2012 Ford Focus, was  checked on the scene by medics with Regional Paramedical Service ambulance, which arrived shortly after the accident. Owens appeared to be shaken up as a result of the accident and mentioned a minor facial injury to medics, who were wearing the N-95 masks protecting themselves and others  during the COVID-19 pandemic in the state.

Owens was driving her car from the entrance road to Gateway onto Highway 278. at the time of collision with a Ford Explorer, driven by Dennis Seymour of Haleyville, who was reportedly not injured in the accident. The collision impacted the front sections of each vehicle in the center of Highway 278 in front of the Chevron.

Also responding to the scene were the Double Springs Fire Department, DS Police Department and Winston County Sheriff's Office.
