LEGAL NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING OF HALEYVILLE CITY COUNCIL
TO CONSIDER ECONOMIC
DEVELOPMENT PAYMENTS
The City of Haleyville, Alabama (the “City”) gives notice that the governing body of the City will meet in regular public session at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020, at City Hall in the City for the purpose of considering such matters as may be properly presented thereto including the authorization by the City pursuant to Amendment No. 772 to the Constitution of Alabama 1901, as amended (“Amendment No. 772”) of the terms, validation, delivery and performance by the City of that certain Special Public Hospital Agreement to be dated the date of delivery (the “Agreement”) by the City and The Health Care Authority of Haleyville and Winston County, Alabama (the “Authority”). Pursuant to the Agreement the City will make available to the Authority in each year an amount of the proceeds of the privilege license (sales) taxes levied by the City within the corporate limits thereof pursuant to Ordinance No. 2017-12 and Ordinance No. 2020-02 which shall be sufficient, together with the proceeds of the special hospital ad valorem tax levied in Winston County, Alabama, made available to the Authority, to pay in full when due in each such year the principal of and interest on the series 2020 revenue bonds issued by the Authority for the capital improvement, operation and maintenance of the public health care facilities of the Authority. The Agreement, and the obligations of the City thereunder, will remain in full force and effect until the series 2020 revenue bonds, and any bonds issued to refinance or refund the indebtedness originally evidenced by the series 2020 revenue bonds, are paid in full or the obligations of the Authority therefor shall be fully discharged. The City has determined that the contributions of the City to the Authority pursuant to the Agreement will facilitate the provision by the Authority of public health care facilities in the City in direct furtherance of the increase of employment opportunities and economic development thereof. The business entity for whose benefit the City proposes to grant public funds and things of value is the Authority. All interested persons may review, and copy at personal expense, the Agreement and all relevant proceedings pertaining thereto, and obtain further information about the matters addressed in this notice, at the offices of the governing body of the City at City Hall during the regular business hours thereof before and after the meeting referenced herein.
