Phillips teams on top over Brilliant

BEAR CREEK - The Phillips Bears and She Bears swept Brilliant in action Tuesday, Dec. 17, at PHS.
The Bears won by a score of 75-72, with the She Bears taking a commanding win 63-22.
Ken Edwards led the scoring for Phillips with 17 points. Hayden Hulsey was close behind with 15,  Collin Grace, 9 points, Brodie Coan, 7, Pol Baldrick and Tanner Markham each had 6 and Jose Aagon, 4.
Gracie Hallman lead the She Bears at the net with 22 points, followed by Alli Temple with 19. Ally McCollum added 8 points, Mary Ashton Hyde, 7, Allie Veal, 5 and Morgan Lauderdale, 2.

BEAR CREEK - The memories of  winning the  1A state basketball championship this spring  are still burning bright in the hearts of the team members and fans of the Phillips High School She Bears.
A ceremony was held Friday,  May 17, at the Attie Fleming Complex on the Phillips school campus to honor the She Bears, Head Coach Scott Veal, assistants, Deb Cook, Julie Hallman, Brandon Clement and Jacob Feltman.

PHS wins 81-41 over Falkville to win region title

HANCEVILLE - Gracie Hallman lead the charge for the Phillips She Bears Monday, Feb. 18, in the Northwest Regional basketball finals in Hanceville with 25 points. Ally McCollum was not far behind with 24 points. The She Bears defeated Falkville 81-41 to capture the title and move to the Final Four at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center. The She Bears defeated Westminster-Oak Mountain on Monday, Feb. 18, in the semi-final game 66-48. They will play Skyline Thursday, at 4 p.m., at the BJCC.

BIRMINGHAM - The Phillips She Bears played their game Monday, Feb. 25,  against Westminster-Oak Mountain to win the state semi-final basketball game at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center. The She Bears won 66-48 over the Lady Knights and will play Skyline in the championship game Thursday, Feb. 28 at 4 p.m., at the BJCC.

HANCEVILLE - The 1A Phillips She Bears are a run-and-gun style of team, scoring more than 160 points in the two area games recently. The She Bears brought a much slower pace to the court at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville Thursday, Feb. 14. for the semi-finals of northwest regional action. The She Bears (23-10) defeated  Decatur Heritage Christian Academy (20-9)  54-36. They played Falkville Monday, Feb. 18, in the regional finals, winning 81-41. The She Bears will play Westminster at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center at 9 a.m., Monday, Feb. 25.

BEAR CREEK  - The Phillips She Bears advanced to region play with an 81-34 routing over the Covenant Christian Eagles Monday, Feb. 11. The subregion game was hosted by PHS as 1A Area 12 champions. The She Bears had a 28-3 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back.
Gracie Hallman lead the charge by the She Bears with 33 points, followed by Amber Markham with 19; Baily Bishop 10; Lexie Dishner 7; Ally McCollum 5, Caitlin Martin 5 and Allie Veal 2.

She Bears advance to regional finals 54-36 over Decatur Heritage

The Phillips High School She Bears defeated Decatur Heritage 54-36 Thursday, Feb. 14, at Wallace State Community College, in Hanceville. The win advances them to play in the finals Monday, Feb. 18, at 3 p.m. against Falkville. Good luck!
