Over $2 million grant awarded for Haleyville Airport project

HALEYVILLE — Congressman Robert Aderholt issued the following statement  Monday, June 27, announcing a grant for the Haleyville Airport, Posey Field.

“I’m pleased to announce that the Haleyville Airport/Posey Field will be receiving a grant of $2,060,000 to rehabilitate the runway and taxiway. The funds are being administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation as part of the Wendell H. Ford Aviation Investment and Reform Act for the 21st Century.  As a member of Congress, and specifically a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I strongly believe in these types of investment in our infrastructure.   Airports like Posey Field are vital for the economic lifeblood of a community. Companies looking to locate to an area often require an airport nearby with good infrastructure.  This investment will ensure Haleyville, and Winston  and Marion Counties have the tools to recruit new industry.”
