Christkindlmarkt now open in Cullman

CULLMAN - Cullman’s premier Christmas event has a new name and has expanded.
Christmas in Cullman is now called Cullman Christkindlmarkt, celebrating the city’s German heritage.  Open every Thursday-Sunday through December 23, Christkindlmarkt features over 40 vendors, an ice skating rink and a carousel.

The beloved Christmas market, with origins tracing back to late medieval Germany, is a vibrant and festive tradition that comes alive during the four weeks of Advent. These markets, typically nestled in the bustling heart of town squares, are a picturesque scene of quaint wooden huts. Originating as gatherings to provide locals with essential winter goods, they have evolved into a celebration of Christmas, offering an array of culinary treats and an assortment of festive gifts and handcrafted items.

Immerse yourself in a German winter wonderland, indulging in rich flavors of traditional German Christkindlmarkt cuisine. Treasure offerings from revered German manufacturers like Christian Ulbricht, Dregeno Seiffen, Engstler, Graupner, Knox, Richard Glässer, Ino Schaller, and Richard Sellmer.

The Cullman Christmas Parade will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, December 1, in downtown Cullman, followed at 7:30 p.m. with the Christmas tree lighting and a concert by Taylor Hicks. All events are free admission.
