WINSTON COUNTY     -  Music and arts programs throughout Winston County, programs, which are not funded by the state, are now receiving a major financial boost, thanks to over $120,000 in funding through the Alabama Arts Education Initiative Grant.
The AAEI Grant, sponsored by the State Department of Education, is providing $105,000 to Winston County Schools, including $20,000 for each school’s band program, educators stated.
Band programs, each receiving $20,000, include Addison, Arley, Double Springs, Lynn and Meek, according to Marla Price, high school curriculum director for WC Schools.
