ARLEY - The Town of Arley is lauding Juanita Culler, "The Banner Lady," for her dedication to, and hard work on behalf of, the town's military banner program with a proclamation and a reception in her honor.
Culler has also extended the military banner program to Addison, Double Springs, Haleyville, Lynn and Good Hope.
The Arley Town Council passed a proclamation honoring her at its Sept. 9 meeting. It reads, in part, "Be it resolved that the town council and mayor of the Town of Arley hereby honor and recognize Mrs. Juanita Culler as 'The Banner Lady' and express their appreciation for all her hard work and dedication for the military banner program for the Town of Arley."
Town Clerk Tammi Farley presented a framed copy of the proclamation to Culler at the meeting, to applause.
The Town of Arley is holding a reception in Culler's honor at the Arley Fire Department this Sunday, Sept. 29, from 2-4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and everyone is invited to attend and share their appreciation for Culler.
