HALEYVILLE - Businesses, both large and small, are the backbone of the city and the heart of a thriving economy.
A special banquet, titled “A Night to Celebrate, Connect and Honor the Heart of Our Community,” set for Monday, Aug. 3, will celebrate all Haleyville Area Chamber of Commerce businesses with a special appreciation dinner, awards and special recognitions. Celebrating Hometown Proud, sponsored by the Chamber, will begin with doors opening for a mix-and-mingle time from 5:30-6 p.m. at the Slaughter Fellowship Hall of Haleyville Methodist Church on Ninth Avenue. The program will begin at 6 p.m. with a welcome and invocation by Chamber President Mike Evans, followed by dinner, the history of the Chamber and business appreciation, special awards and legacy awards.
Music will be provided by Judd Mize.
Sponsors are paying for the banquet, so there will not be a charge for attendance for Chamber members, organizers said.
Chamber of Commerce board member Cherie Sibley, who also hosts the Haleyville Area Chamber of Commerce meetings each month at her business, The Downtown Exchange, stressed the idea of the recognition and appreciation dinner honoring Chamber members came from Evans.
“This is the first time we have ever done this in the history of the Chamber that we’re aware of,” Sibley stated. “We encourage other members and businesses to be a part of the Chamber.”
Several local businesses will be catering the food provided at the dinner, Sibley added.
