HALEYVILLE- Beth McAlpine, incumbent for Haleyville Board of Education place 1, defeated opponent Bobby Crook, to retain her seat in the Tuesday, August 4, school board election.
McAlpine received 427 votes for 57.2 percent of the vote, compared to Crooks 320 votes for 42.8 percent.
McAlpine will begin her fourth term on the board in March 2027. Crook was making his first run for the board of education.
Polling sites voting in the Haleyville school board election were Neighborhood Facilities Building, Haleyville, the Haleyville Senior Center, Pebble, Waldrop and Delmar.
