WCHS Lady Jackets make comeback to defeat Carbon Hill in Christmas tournament

DOUBLE SPRINGS - The Winston County Lady  Jackets were  down by 17 points in the first period Thursday, Dec. 27, playing Carbon Hill in the Winston County Christmas Tournament. The Lady Jackets hosted the event.
WCHS kept closing the gap and tied the score at 38 all late in the third period and won by a score of 48-44.
Stats for the Lady Jackets include:
Kady Bonds, 9 points;  7 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals;
Ella Moore, 2 points, 8 rebounds;
Emily Holt, 7 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal;
Saige Blanton, 18 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 7 steals, 2 blocks;
Samantha Marcum, 2 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist;
MacKenzie Blackwood, 7 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals; Brenna Wakefield, 3 points, 4 rebounds.
In other action on Thursday, Belgreen defeated Addison 76-65; Decatur Heritage beat Curry 54-45 and East Lawrence won over Vinemont 36-25.
Due to the printing schedule for the new year holiday, other scores were not available from Friday and Saturday’s action.
