Curry runs away with early lead in win over Haleyville Lady Lions

CURRY - The Haleyville Lady Lions softball team watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in an 8-1 loss to Curry on Tuesday, March 19. Curry took the lead on a single in the first inning.
The Lady Lions struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Curry, giving up eight runs.
Curry scored five runs in the sixth inning. Allie Downs, Alayna Key, Linley Tubbs, and Richardson all drove in runs in the frame.
Alea Freeman led things off on the rubber for Curry. She surrendered one run on eight hits over seven innings, striking out six and walking zero.
Ana Aaron started the game for Lady Lions. She lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing five hits and three runs, while striking out one. Molly Gilbert threw three and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Lady Lions totaled eight hits in the game. Hailie Moody and Gracie Long all collected multiple hits for Lady Lions. Long and Moody each managed two hits to lead Lady Lions. Lady Lions was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Lauran Wilcoxson made the most plays with nine.
