HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville Lions baseball took both games of a doubleheader with Fayette Thursday, April 11, defeating Fayette County 4-2 in the second game.
Haleyville got things moving in the first inning, with Scott McAlpine hitting a solo homer.
Brantson Lambert led things off on the hill for Haleyville. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and two runs, while striking out six.
Coulton Ary started the game for Fayette County. He went five innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out three. Kaleb Owens threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Haleyville racked up eight hits. McAlpine and Abraham Marchant each racked up multiple hits. Marchant and McAlpine all had two hits to lead the Lions.
