HHS cross country teams do well at Brooks Invitational

The Haleyville High School girls cross country team members start their race.

HALEYVILLE - The Haleyville Running Lions opened their season Saturday, Aug. 31, at McFarland Park in Florence at the Brooks Lions Cross Country Invitational.
This is a very young team with only two female seniors and no male seniors. What is considered a rebuilding year, did not stop the Lions from putting up some impressive numbers.
Haleyville’s Top 5 boys finished in 12th, 24th, 39th, 43rd and 79th place out of 187 runners for a fifth place team finish.

Soccer banquet honors athletes

A banquet was recently held to honor the Haleyville High School soccer teams. Winston County takes both Thursday games

LYNN - The Winston County Basketball tournament saw varsity action Thursday, Jan. 24, at Lynn High School. The Winston County Lady Yellow Jackets defeated the Lynn Lady Bears in the first game, 48-30. The Winston County Yellow Jackets then took a 62-45 victory over Addison.
Scoring by quarters with the Lady Jackets leading all four period included, 11-6, 27-13, 34-22 and 48-30.
