She Bears loses in regional finals to Mars Hill

HANCEVILLE - The defending 1A state champion Phillips She Bears saw their season come to an abrupt end on Monday, Feb. 17, after suffering a 56-33 loss to the Mars Hill Lady Panthers in the championship game of the Class 1A Northwest Regional basketball tournament that was held at Wallace State Community College.
The She Bears advanced to the regional championship game after defeating the Decatur Heritage Lady Eagles 50-46 in the regional semifinals on Thursday, Feb. 13.

Lynn, Meek, Phillips and Winston County eliminated from regionals

Softball is over for 2019 for teams in Winston County and Phillips High School, in Marion County. Lynn, Meek and Phillips were eliminated from the west central regional tournament held in Tuscaloosa, while Winston County was eliminated from the north region tournament held in Florence. The state tournaments begin Wednesday, May 15 in Montgomery for those who advanced from regional play.

Phillips She Bears only team left in Northwest Alabamian's coverage area.

The Phillips She Bears will play Decatur Heritage Thursday, Feb. 14, at 3 p.m. at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville in the northwest region. The She Bears are the only team still in play in the Northwest Alabamian's coverage area. The Addison Lady Bulldogs, Meek Tigers, Haleyville Lady Lions and Haleyville Lions were all defeated in subregional play. Good luck to the PHS She Bears.
