- The only area where cash is not on hand to cover higher expenditures than revenues when it comes to Winston County governmental agencies is the sanitation department, with customers owing a half million dollars for garbage collection services.

WINSTON COUNTY - Residents who receive garbage collection services from the Winston County Sanitation Department are being warned they could see delays in their garbage pickup.

WINSTON COUNTY - The Haleyville Street and Sanitation Department will be closed Monday, Sept. 6, for Labor Day. Monday’s garbage route will be picked up with Tuesday’s, on Sept. 7.

WINSTON COUNTY - $800,000 in arrears caused by residents not paying their fees for sanitation collection services has forced the Winston County Commission into taking its strongest action yet, reaching the point of legal action to get residents to pay up on past due bills.
